Fast Track to Success

Genesis offers programs that may be completed anywhere from 5 to 12 months. Our goal is to educate you in your chosen field in the shortest possible time while giving you all the tools you need to succeed in your future career.


Admission Requirements

All students under consideration for admission to Genesis Career College must meet the following requirements:

  • Students must be at least 17 years of age to enroll in Cosmetology or Barbering related programs, and at least 18 years of age to enroll in Allied Health Programs, and Massage Therapy.
  • Proof of High School Education Completion: Transcripts are required and must be submitted within the first 30 days of enrollment. High School, GED, and proof of home school completion at a secondary level according to State regulations are acceptable forms of completion.
  • Picture Identification (Valid Driver's License, or State ID).
  • Must be legally entitled to live and work in the United States.
  • Students enrolled in the Massage Therapy Program must not have been convicted of the offense of prostitution or sexual misconduct.
  • Prospective students may be subject to an interview with a professional from the State Health Related Board.
  • Current State License (Cosmetology and Barbering Instructor’s Programs only)

Transfer Students

Genesis Career College will accept hours obtained from other cosmetology schools. Acceptance of any transfer hours will be at the discretion of the director at each individual campus. Upon successful completion of a practical review, Genesis Career Group, Inc. will issue a credit against the student's tuition charge when the notarized transfer hours are received in the Director's office. We will honor transfer student kits on an individual basis. Transfer students will be required to have their kits assessed by an Genesis Career College representative prior to enrollment and if additional supplies are deemed necessary, transfer students will be charged for only the additional items needed. Students will be given credit for previous training as it applies to the course.

Transfer of Previous Credits

  • Credit for courses completed at another institution for a student enrolling with GCC will be subject to approval by the Campus Director.
  • The student is responsible for submitting an official transcript from the previous institution.
  • Only credits earned within 2 years prior to enrollment at GCC will be considered.
  • All requests for transfer of credits must be made prior to or within the first thirty (30) days of the start of school.
  • All students will be notified of any credits accepted as transferable.
  • Transfer credit is not included in the calculation of cumulative grade point average.
  • In quarter credit hour programs, transfer credit is included as credit attempted and earned when calculating the rate of progress. In clock hour programs, accepted transfer credit is added at the end of training and is not included when calculating the rate of progress.
  • Not more than 30% of required credit for the program of enrollment will be accepted as transfer credit from previous education/training.

 

Disclosure of Transferability of Credits

Credits earned at Genesis Career College may not transfer to another educational institution. Credits earned at another educational institution may not be accepted by Genesis Career College. You should obtain confirmation that Genesis Career College will accept any credits you have earned at another educational institution before you execute an enrollment contract or agreement. You should also contact any educational institutions that you may want to transfer credits earned at Genesis Career College to determine if such institutions will accept credits earned at Genesis Career College prior to executing an enrollment contract or agreement. The ability to transfer credits from Genesis Career College to another educational institution may be very limited. Your credits may not transfer and you may have to repeat courses previously taken at Genesis Career College if you enroll in another educational institution. You should never assume that credits will transfer to or from any educational institution. It is highly recommended and you are advised to make certain that you know the transfer of credit policy of Genesis Career College and of any other educational institutions you may in the future want to transfer the credits earned at Genesis Career College before you execute an enrollment contract or agreement.
